A Worn Book
Over the last couple of days, I've had an idea that I think is pretty swell. What if some of us bought a worn copy of one of our favorite books, from a Half Price Bookstore near us, and wrote down our thoughts and feelings down in that book, while also mentioning our blogs or emails or anything we want really, to encourage anyone to look us up. Then, leave the book somewhere and wait for someone to find it, and see how far across the country, or even across the globe, that the book travels. We're all connected right? Right. so let's get to it.
Time
You know those slogans that tell us to live in the present, and not in the future or the past? Yeah, it's not as easy as it sounds; our whole lives we've been trained to look back at our past mistakes, or to figure out who we're going to be twenty years from now. We're almost never encouraged to be who we are right in this moment (in which you happen to be reading this post), but I'm going to put an end to that. Who are you right now? All of those grudges, the jealousy, the past mistakes, the looming future--it doesn't matter. Be who you are now, whether that be a friend, a lover, a teacher, anyone at all! Be spontaneous. Be in the moment. Because isn't that what we all miss, a little spontaneity? I know that I sure do, never knowing what might happen, and having that knowing smile break onto my face after realizing that my daily routine has been broken. So, kiss a girl, write a letter (or a message in a bottle, if you're into that kind of thing), tell a best friend she's absolutely wonderful--ANYTHING. You don't have forever.
